Discounted Postal Rates

There are 3 main postal discount schemes: Mailsort which is designed for Local or National Mailings of packets or letters, Presstream which is similar to Mailsort but is designed for regularly published magazines and periodicals, and Walksort which is designed for local mailings where there is a high penetration. The various levels of discount reflect the service required and the degree of penetration geographically. Variations on these services offer further small discounts.

Letters are mailing pieces which are C5+ size (240mm by 165mm) or less, and which are not more than 6mm (1/4 inch) thick. Addresses can be printed in either direction, landscape or portrait. Pieces greater than C5+ size but not more than 6mm thick and weighing less than 60g are also classed as letters for Mailsort purposes.

Packets are mailing pieces which are larger than C5+ size (240mm by 165mm) and weigh more than 60g but not more than 2kg, or are more than 6mm (1/4 inch) thick. Discounts vary according to the service you use between 8% and 36%.
